Monday August 7, saw the quaint pizzeria throw a celebratory party, complete with a buffet of hors d’oeuvres, complimentary pizza fresh out of the wood-fire oven, and mellow Italian tunes.
Guests were welcome to bring their own bottle as the restaurant slowly filled up with well-wishers, while the buzz also attracted numerous passing tourists.
One of the founders of Napizza, Alex Sorlei, is a fourth year International Politics and French student at the university, and the initiator of the idea to bring the authentic Napoli pizza tradition to Scotland.
Dedicated to providing a genuine south Italian product and experience, the team import the necessary fresh ingredients, and employ traditional Italian cooking methods for their pizzas.
Plans for expansion are also in the pipeline, as the owners have announced the imminent opening of a second restaurant.
