Orgoglio Italiano: this is the name of the tasting menu, that is to say of the format (only available for take away, while the pizzas à la carte can also be delivered) with which Sestogusto – the famous and awarded gourmet pizzeria from Massimiliano Prete, in Torino – promises to pamper its clients even during the complicated weeks of the pandemic.
Orgoglio Italiano, Italian pride is born with the goal of supporting small artisans, who are the most affected by the lockdown, and are more fragile compared to large corporations while offering sustainable high quality products.
The tasting is made of three products: three gourmet pizzas starting with Margherita Extravergine (crispy base made with Petra Evolutiva from the 2019 harvest, garnished with cherry tomatoes from Vesuvius, goat's milk ricotta from Cascina Badin, basil pesto and pistachios from Bronte), then Pizz'Otto Caprino e crudo and Fa Croc® La Mortadella. This is paired with Birra di Focaccia (made in partnership with Antagonisti Gipsy Brewer from Melle), which is made by recovering the surplus of the focaccias made at Sestogusto.
As for the rest of the menu, there's a delivery service available for gourmet pizzas “to be finished at home”: in order to guarantee they're perfectly fragrant, they must be garnished right before service, just like at the restaurant. Guests receive the base and the ingredients for the topping, in separate containers, ready to be used. They finish the pizza following a step-by-step tutorial that arrives via WhatsApp, with instructions on how to assemble the pizza, as if they were sitting at a table in Via Mazzini.
